1. General information:

  • Your hair scissors should only be used for cutting (natural and synthetic) hair.
  • Store your TONDEO scissors in a safe place to prevent them from getting damaged.
The cutting edges and tips of the blades can easily be ruined if the scissors drop.

2. Cleaning:

  • Clean your TONDEO hairstyling scissors every day with a soft cloth and remove any hair clinging to them, especially hair around the pivot point.

3. Oiling:

  • Oil the pivot point and the blade cutting edges of your TONDEO scissors every day after cleaning the scissors.
  • Open and close the scissors several times, so that the oil can spread across the areas it’s needed as evenly as possible.

4. Blade mobility:

  • The optimum basic tension for your scissors is set at our factory.

5. Sharpening service:

  • Have your TONDEO hairstyling scissors resharpened regularly by TONDEO’s sharpening service staff.
  • The fact that the service is carried out by specially trained TONDEO personnel ensures that the scissors will be of the same high quality after the sharpening as when they were first purchased.

TONDEO care advice: adjusting the blade mobility

To guarantee yourself many years of great service from your TONDEO hairstyling scissors, please heed the following advice:
Your TONDEO scissors will cut smoothly and open and close easily if the blades are allowed exactly the right amount of mobility. This will ensure that the cutting edges retain the intended angle when the blades are opened and that their cutting performance is maintained for a long period of time. How to check the blades’ mobility and prevent them from being “too loose” or “too tight”:

TONDEO adjusting the blade mobility 1
1. Blade mobility test:

  • Hold the handle with the lower thumb ring firmly in one hand (1).
  • Open the scissors and now let the upper handle drop (2).
  • The position the scissors remain open in will tell you what you need to know about the tightness of the screw.

2. When closing the scissors you feel a slight resistance and the
blades don’t fully overlap:

  • The gap between the tips is ideal, as shown in the picture. = The tightness of the screw is ideal.

3. The scissors are difficult to close and the blades hardly overlap at all:

  • The gap between the tips is too big. = The screw is too tight.

4. The scissors close too easily and the blades almost overlap completely:

  • The gap between the tips is too small or there is no gap at all. = The screw is too loose.

Razors and blades

Use a new blade for each customer for hygiene reasons. Rinse the knife itself daily under running water and disinfect it if necessary.

TONDEO care advice: machine maintenance

To guarantee yourself many years of great service from your TONDEO product, please heed the following advice:

TONDEO machine maintenance
1. Cleaning:

  • To ensure your product runs and cuts as it should, daily maintenance is a must.
  • If hair caught in the device is not cleared, it will restrict the battery’s performance severely.
  • Start by cleaning the cutting plates with the cleaning brush.
  • Next, take advantage of the device’s “easycleaning system”, which allows you to simply apply forward pressure and take off the whole of the razor head. Once you’ve done this, remove the hair underneath.
ATTENTION: If you have an ECO XS, you will need to unscrew the head.

2. Oiling:

  • The razor head should be oiled every day.
  • Only the oil supplied with the device should be used.
  • Also oil the places where the lower and upper cutting plates touch each other.
  • One drop of oil on the left-hand and right-hand sides of each plate is enough.
  • To enable the oil to spread across the plates sufficiently, turn your TONDEO clipper on for approx. 20 seconds.

3. Service:

  • If you have any service or repair queries, please contact the TONDEO customer service team on +49 (0)212-6586-0.

TONDEO care advice: hairdryer

TONDEO care advice for hairdryers
1. Unscrewing the air-filter cap:

  • It is absolutely essential that the metal mesh across the air inlet on the back of your hairdryer is cleaned regularly.
  • To do this, remove the filter cap by twisting it anticlockwise and then take the stainless steel mesh out.
  • Never reach inside the hairdryer after removing the filter cap, as internal components can be damaged or come into contact with voltage and residual current as a result.

2. Cleaning:

  • Carefully remove any hair from the air-filter mesh.
  • An unobstructed air supply must be guaranteed, and if the air filter becomes clogged, the heating element can overheat and burn out.

3. Replacing the air-filter mesh and cap

  • Place the air-filter mesh back inside the filter cap.
  • Next, place the filter cap back over the inlet opening at the back of the hairdryer.
  • Finally, screw the cap back into place on the back of the device after making sure it is now clean.

Tip: To prevent heat from accumulating inside your hairdryer when using it, avoid pointing the nozzle directly at your hair for too long. This will stop hot air from building up inside the housing.

Attention: Before you begin cleaning an electronic TONDEO product, always disconnect the electricity supply by pulling the mains plug out of its socket. Make sure the device has cooled down.
